Man oh man am I happy to be back in the Bay. I was in New Orleans all weekend, where it was upwards of 103 degrees and everything was sticky. I guess itโs healthy to know you can survive the occasional trial by humidity, but thereโs nothing like stepping off the plane at SFO and breathing that San Francisco air, cool and crisp and just the most refreshing thing youโll ever put in your lungs.
Iโm also glad to be home because I can finally focus on my latest project, which leads me to a little announcement: Iโm tabling at San Francisco Zine Fest on September 3!
Considering Iโve never made a zine in my life, I was pleasantly surprised and very grateful to the lovely people at SFZF who are letting me bring Discussion Candy to their event in zine form. Iโll be selling three mini zines and one big zine with three essays inside, all for dirt cheap because I care very little about profit and much more about meeting other cool San Francisco people who spend their time making things and putting them out into the world. Art is alive and so is this city!
I have a toooooon of work to do in the next three weeks, but last week before I went to New Orleans I made some rough mockups. Hereโs a lil preview:
If you can tell which essays the raccoons or the fish on the mini zines are from, you get a prize and the prize is my love.
If you happen to be in the city on Sept 3, come to the Metreon on 4th Street and say hi :) Also Iโm planning on having a big bowl of free candy at my table, so comment and tell me your favorite weird or niche candy and Iโll try to get it for the fest!
Aw so cool I wish I could go!!
Congratulations! This is so exciting- Iโm proud of you. (PS the raccoons are from the Barbie essay)
