I love this!! the demand to have a perfectly curated tasteful personality-projecting authentically chic but also not tryhard VIBE with everything in life is just…exhausting…it’s nice to give up and settle for unobtrusive ordinariness!

While we're on the topic, can we talk about Jojo's nails?! What nails, you ask? EXACTLY! your purposeful avoidance of a certain aesthetic (while still somehow paying attention to it) AT LEAST brought you to the chemical salon and you came out with offensively green nails. Jojo didn't even use stick-on nails. Not even one coat of grey-ish black. Nothing.

Better yet, how about we start doing actual human work for each other that doesn’t pay but builds relations and heals. Where my family and I live in thailand, people live well with the land and we work hard, we work for each other and we work doubley hard when others need help. We don’t get paid. the exchange is better. Capitalism made us greedy, all of us. its required of us under its banner.

I had a similar feeling of relief when my phone died on a three hour drive and I found myself listening to Kiss FM??? Those weird radio prank shows were the blue print for so many weird tiktok "prank" videos. I felt like an Alien being exposed to human media for the first time and it was delightful.

So happy I stumbled upon your newsletter! I also had a local radio-fuelled commute recently because I am so tired of choosing things all of the time.. even music 🎶 and it was so lovely. Some rural banjo beats played and I felt free

This was such a relief to read!! I completely agree; bring on the ugly, the uncool, the static. Why aren’t we just allowed to be? I’ve been listening to the radio every day and it’s refreshing. Though if I hear No Flowers by Miley Cyrus one more time…lol

The green reminds me of the colour of Charli XCX’ upcoming album Brat. Definitely proves your point because she’s one of those cool people who knows when to make the switch (I think)
